Women's Golf Places Fourth at Maryville College Fall Invitational

ALCOA, Tenn. — The Southern Virginia University women's golf team placed fourth in the two-day Maryville College Fall Invitational at Green Meadow Country Club with a team record 362 round on the final day of competition.

"Our team has had to deal delays of tournaments this year, giving us fewer rounds than we anticipated. This was a major factor to our improvements on day two," said head coach Blair Garner. "Our players improved on each day, I am proud of the effort we got from this week."

Southern Virginia recorded a total score of 735 and finished just seven strokes behind third place. Bailey Rusick Vinson shot a new personal low score of 82 for the day, earning herself a seventh overall finish with a total score of 174.

Ashley Nokes and Rachel Gardiner placed 12th and 13th respectively after posting total scores of 184 and 185, while Bailee Wright and Bailey Pfunder completed the Knights team.

The Knights will complete their fall season at home on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Vista Links Golf Course.
