YORK, Pa. – The Southern Virginia women's basketball team dropped its conference matchup with York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday by a score of 95-60.
A close game until halftime, the Spartans (14-7, 10-4 CAC) put the pedal to the floor in the second half, outscoring the Knights (12-9, 5-9 CAC) 25-8 in the third quarter and holding the lead for the victory.
The Knights were not able to get it going from the field shooting only 32.9% for the game, while they were also outrebounded by the Spartans 50-31. The Knights did move the ball around well, however, assisting on an impressive 19 of their 23 buckets.
The Knights hit the road again on Wednesday as they travel to Newport News, Virginia to take on Christopher Newport University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Freeman Center.
