Katie Garrish Selected as CAC Player of the Week For Second Time

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Southern Virginia freshman Katie Garrish has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Knights to a 2-0 week with road wins over Frostburg State and Wesley.

The forward posted averages of 22.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 57.6% from the field. Garrish (Annandale, Va.) began the week with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks in a 79-59 win at Frostburg State, before closing out the week by matching her season-best of 26 points against Wesley, while also grabbing 14 rebounds, blocking four shots, and adding two steals. She notched her 11th and 12th double-doubles of the season this week.

Garrish leads the CAC in scoring (15.6 ppg), rebounding (11.9 rpg), and blocked shots (3.1 bpg) this season.
