Winsor Scores 24, Women's Basketball Falls to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.—The Southern Virginia University women's basketball team fell 74-45 to Capital Athletic Conference opponent Salisbury University in its final away game of the season.

Shelby Winsor had her fifth 20+ point game, with 24 and grabbed seven rebounds for the Knights (3-10, 0-16 CAC). Kimberly Eads and Merideth Ouellette who scored five apiece.

The Knights shot 28.8% from the field compared to the Seagull's (13-10, 9-7 CAC) 45.2%. Southern Virginia was held scoreless beyond the arc on nine attempts.

The Knights were able to hold the Gulls to under 15 points in each of the final two quarters, but were held to 15 or fewer points each period.

Southern Virginia returns home to host nationally ranked Christopher Newport University on Wednesday, February 15 at 5:30 p.m. EST.
