About the Knights

Southern Virginia hopes to get back on track against a tough York College squad. The Knights are looking to snap a six-game skid as they return home to The Barn this Saturday. The most recent loss for Southern Virginia came at Frostburg State (3-9, 1-5 CAC), a 76-51 defeat on Wednesday night. Freshman guard Morgan Hartvigsen led the way for the Knights in that game with 12 points.

On the season, Southern Virginia is averaging 59.8 ppg while shooting 36.4 percent from the floor. The Knights are also averaging 43.2 rebounds per game and a solid 10 steals per game while holding opponents to 68.4 ppg.

Center Crystal Cleveland and forward Shannon Romito will look to lead the rebounding attack again after posting 11 and 10 boards, respectively, in their last time out.

Freshman guard Tatiana Monsen leads Southern Virginia in scoring at 12.0 ppg while contributing team bests of 2.8 assists per game and 2.7 steals per game.

York College enters Saturday's game ranked No. 13 in the nation as it continues its undefeated season while riding a 14-game winning streak. The Spartans are currently first in Capital Athletic Conference standings with a 7-0 record.

As a team, York College is averaging 69.5 ppg while shooting 41.4% from the field. The Spartans are posting a strong defensive effort this season as they are holding opponents to just 50.7 ppg while opposing teams are shooting an astounding 30.2% from the floor.

York College is led by senior forward Brittany Hicks, who is averaging a double-double per game on the season at 14.6 ppg and 10.3 rebounds.

Senior forward Kristen Haley also leads the Spartans' scoring attack as she is averaging 13.9 ppg to go along with 6 rebounds per game.
