Five team members scored in double figures. Freshman Crystal Cleveland registered 11 points and 12 rebounds on the evening, while Ann Kuroki, Georgia Logan and Amaris Newkirk hit six straight free throws in the second half to seal the win.

Kuroki earned season highs in points (14) and rebounds (9), while forward Abigail Logan contributed with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Two other Knights reached double figures as G. Logan and Newkirk scored 10 and 12 points, respectively.

Frostburg State forward Brynne Arnone made 7-for-13 shots from the field to lead the team with 14 points.

 

About the Knights

Southern Virginia is looking to snap a five-game skid as it travels to Frostburg State this Wednesday. The Knights' most recent defeat came against Capital Athletic Conference foe St. Mary's College of Maryland, a 60-45 decision in Buena Vista, Va.

Freshman guard Tatiana Monsen leads the Southern Virginia attack at 12.5 ppg while contributing team bests of 3.0 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game.  Sophomore center Crystal Cleveland leads all Knight rebounders at 9.7 boards per game while also averaging 9.0 ppg.

Sophomore Shannon Romito comes off the bench and is the second-leading scorer for the Knights at 10.3 ppg while averaging 7.5 rebounds.

The Knights will look for strong efforts on the offensive and defensive ends of the court as they seek their first road victory of the season.

 

About the Bobcats

Frostburg State is looking to stop a five-game losing streak of its own. The Bobcats are coming off a 93-62 defeat to CAC opponent Marymount University.

Frostburg State has a balanced scoring attack with three players averaging double digits. Senior guard Elaina Hummel leads the Bobcats at 14.7 ppg while junior guard Ronje James is not far behind at 14.0 ppg. The other double-digit scorer is Simone Wise, a junior guard averaging 11.5 ppg.

Jasmine Walker leads the rebounding attack at 7.7 rebounds per game while averaging 5.4 ppg respectively.

The Bobcats are currently eighth in the Capital Athletic Conference standings.
