BUENA VISTA, Va.—Southern Virginia University women's senior guard/forward Mina Romito today was named a member of the Great Ships Classic All-Tournament Team for her performance last weekend.

"Mina is deserving of the nomination due to her effectiveness last weekend," said fourteen-year Head Coach Michael Harmon. "Her success on the court is a byproduct of the team's execution of our game plan to play smart and take care of the ball."

M. Romito (Walker, La.) led Southern Virginia in scoring as she averaged 16.5 points-per-game including recording double-doubles in victories over Bennett College—15 points and 10 steals—on Friday and Penn State-Fayette—18 points and 11 rebounds—on Saturday during the Great Ships Classic hosted by the Apprentice School.

The Knights, who are 2-0 for the first time in program history since the 2008-09 squad, hit a high percentage of shots on the weekend finishing 46.5% as a team from the field while also forcing 63 turnovers and limiting their opponents to a 24.8% shooting percentage on the defensive end of the court.
