Neely Pendleton was named Head Spirit Squad Coach after her first year at the helm of Southern Virginia's Cheer Team.
Pendleton graduated from Southern Virginia with a Bachelor's of Art in Spanish and a minor in early childhood education. She was a student travel advisor for travel study program to Madrid, Spain and a member of the Spanish club. While attending Southern Virginia she was a member of the varsity cheer team for four years and served as co-captain before graduating in 2011.
After graduating she served as the head cheer coach before accompanying her husband to graduate school at Virginia Tech. Pendleton worked as a Spanish teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools. From 2013-15 she served as the head cheerleading coach at Blacksburg High School and Auburn Middle School.
Coach Pendleton served a Spanish-speaking mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tempe, Arizona from 2007-09.
Neely and her husband, Bryce, currently reside in Buena Vista, Virginia with their puppy, Tia.
