The Eagles claimed game one, 9-0. Freshman pitcher Cassandra Pacheco, along with her defense, held the Eagles to three runs after seven hits and six walks. The Knights combined seven hits and one walk off of Bridgewater's pitchers Amanda Lutz and Haley Harris to earn the five runs and claim the victory.

About the Knights

The Knights recently lost, 22-0, to ODAC member Guilford College in five innings. The Knights have a combined .219 batting average, 129 hits and an 8.87 earned run average.

Sophomore shortstop Cheyenne Hegsted continues to lead the Knights with a .382 batting average and a .425 on-base percentage and 18 stolen bases. Freshman McKenzie Packard leads the Knights with 11 runs batted in, two triples and trails Hegsted with 10 steals. Hegsted and Packard have one homerun apiece.

Southern Virginia will look to bounce back from the 22-0 loss and be solid on defense and aggressive at the plate to end the season with a sweep.
