SVU Falls in Second Round
May 6, 2009DECATUR, IL. - The SVU “Lady Knights” softball team
lost in the second round of the USCAA National tournament to host
team Robert Morris College of Springfield, IL by a score of
0-8.
The “Lady Eagles” started off fast with one run in the
first, added three more in the third, two in the fourth, and two in
the fifth to complete the scoring. The Knights seemed to
“sleepwalk” through the game and it was over very
quickly.
The tournament is a straight double elimination one and SVU faces
elimination in each game they will play from now on. It appears the
Knights will play Penn State University (Beaver) in the third round
for fourth place and the opportunity to continue advancing in the
tournament. SVU beat PSU(B) twice in the regular season. The
Knights record is now 19-11.
