Myers Selected to 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team

BUENA VISTA, Va. — The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2020 Academic All-District Men's Track & Field / Cross Country Team with Southern Virginia University's senior Mike Myers earning the honor.

Myers becomes the program's first to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors while adding another accolade to his historic senior season. He thrived inside the classroom and on the cross country courses in his final season with the Knights.

The Medford, Oregon, native was named for the second consecutive season to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. Myers earned CAC Men's Runner of the Year after winning the program's first individual title at the CAC Championships. He then followed up with the program's highest finish (6th) at the South/Southeast Regional Championships and qualified for nationals, becoming the program's first to do so. He placed 98th at the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships with a time of 25:26.6 on the 8k course.

CoSIDA recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic AllAmerica® honorees will be announced from June 22-25.
