HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Southern Virginia University cross country teams had a great showing at the James Madison Invitational on Saturday, with the men's team placing second and the women's team placing third in their respective races after top-five performances from Morgan Bingham and Colter May

Colter May and Michael Myers were the top runners for the Knights. May finished fifth overall with an 8K time of 27:28. Myers finished eighth at 28:02. Kevin Shelley, Braden Robbins, and Brandon Shelley also placed in the top 20, giving the Knights enough points for a second-place team finish.

On the women's side, freshman Morgan Bingham ran a 20:57 5K for a third-place finish. Bobbe May, Kate Huber and Aly Abel also scored for the Knights after finishing in the top-20.

"I'm feeling really good about the way that we are competing," head coach Clint May said, reflecting on the meet. "The way that we are approaching the races is what we want each and every time."

Both teams will be competing in the Shenandoah Hornet Invitational on Saturday, September 23 in Winchester Va.
