Men Finish Sixth in CAC Championship

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.—The Southern Virginia men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Capital Athletic Conference Championships where the men's team earned a sixth place finish.

For the men, freshman Kevin Shelley finished first for the Knights with a time of 28:42.2. Jefferson Chandler and Brandon Shelley finished in the 30th minute. Greyson Meyers finished at 30:31.9 and John Leake finished behind him at 31:05.8.

The women's team had an incomplete score due to racing only four of the needed five runners.

Despite the team score, Rachel Thomas led the women's team with a time of 27:59.8 and Kaitlyn Garcia finished right behind her at 28:05.7. Alizabeth Apgood finished in the 29th minute and Aly Abel in the 30th minute.

Both teams will travel to Rome, Georgia to compete in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday, November 12.
