Men's Cross Country Competes in Quaker Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. BJ Awerkamp again led the Southern Virginia Men's Cross Country team as they competed in the Quaker Invitational. Awerkamp finished 25th out of 68 runners, and helped the Knights attain a sixth place finish out of eight teams.

"He (Awerkamp) is a very consistent runner," said Head Coach Leslie McKinney. "I'm happy with our results today. We scored well, and we represented our program well also. We have good quality runners, and I hope that our performance today shows we can do well at the National Invitational."

Kevin Prince finished well for the Knights and was followed by Jason Fulmer. Tyler Brown and Jesse Houchens finished next for the Knights, and Peter Rose, Marlon Sheffield and Jordan Kofford rounded out the finishers for the team.

The Knights will be back in action Oct. 24 when they travel to the Hood College Invitational.
