Awerkamp and Prince Lead Knights Against Hood

FREDERICKSBURG, Md. Runners BJ Awerkamp and Kevin Prince finished 3rd and 4th to pace the SVU Men's Cross Country team against Hood. The dual between Hood and SVU was a tight affair, with the hosts eventually finishing well enough to get the victory. Hood recorded 22 points while the Knights came in with 33. Awerkamp finished with a time of 17:58 and Prince came in at 18:11.

Peter Rose rounded out added to the Knights' top ten finishers as he came in at seventh with a time of 18:52. Jesse Houchens and Jason Fullmer rounded out the top ten as they finished ninth and tenth respectively.

"I'm very happy with our showing today," said Head Coach Leslie McKinney. "We had strong running, and a good overall group performance. I believe it's been great preparation for the National Meet."

Tyler Brown, Marlon Sheffield and Jordan Kofford finished in a pack as the 12th, 13th an 14th runners. Chris Rogers finished at 17 to round out the SVU finishers. The Knights will now turn their attention to the USCAA National Invitational hosted by NHTI in Concord, New Hampshire. The meet is scheduled for Nov. 6.
