Jason Hinds enters his second season as an assistant track and field coach working with the sprinters.
Hinds, a native of Jamaica, has trained with some of the fastest athletes in the world such as Usain Bolt and Kim Collins. He studied at Southern Virginia University and played soccer from 2008-10 after serving an LDS mission in New York, N.Y., before transferring and graduating from Brigham Young University.
He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in health education from BYU. While there he competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100, and 4x400 relay.
Most recently, Coach Hinds graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland.
