Knights Finish Indoor Season at Roanoke Maroons Final Qualifier

SALEM, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's and women's track and field teams traveled for a final shot to qualify for the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships Saturday afternoon at the Roanoke Maroons NCAA Final Qualifier.

The Knights made the trip south with a small number of athletes in hopes of setting more personal best marks.

The Knights came away with two individual winners both coming in the men's and women's shot put.

In the men's, senior and CAC Indoor Shot Put Champion Derek Blasko led the field with a throw of 15.34m securing a first-place finish.

For the women's team, CAC Indoor Rookie of the Year Baylee Mulitalo won the shot put with a new personal best and school record throw of 13.20 meters. The throw currently placing 26th best in the Division III ranks.

The Knights will look to begin their outdoor season Friday, Mar. 15 at the W&L Track and Field Carnival in Lexington, Virginia.
