BUENA VISTA, Va. – First-year track and field head coach Elizabeth Wilson today announced the 2018 indoor and outdoor track & field schedules. Both the men's and women's teams will compete at each event.
"For the indoor season, I am thrilled that every meet we are competing at that has a surface no older than two years," Coach Wilson said. "Every facility is near brand- new and will provide some great opportunities for our athletes to run fast and perform their best.
The Knights will start the indoor season with the Bast-Cregger Invitational in Roanoke, Virginia on December 1-2. After a month and a half away from competition, the teams will return to action on January 19-20 at the CNU Captains Invitational in Newport News, Virginia, where the CAC Indoor Championships will be held just under a month later.
The outdoor season kicks off with a meet at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia on March 16-17. Four other meets will prepare the Knights for the CAC Outdoor Championships held at Salisbury University on May 4-5.
"For the outdoor season, we are excited for our meet at Christopher Newport where we will have the opportunity for our athletes to compete in some events that are not offered at every meet," Coach Wilson commented.
"Our team is young, dedicated, and hungry for great results this season," she said.
