Knights Conquer Maroons 7-2

BUENA VISTA, Va.— The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team defeated the Maroons of Roanoke College in a non-conference home matchup on Monday afternoon.

The regionally ranked Knights (10-1) took a 3-0 lead after doubles as Daniel Blonquist and Kukutla Motlojoa took down their opponents from Roanoke (5-8) 8-0 at the No. 1 doubles flight while Ben Spencer and Will Stoddard earned an 8-5 win at No. 2.

In singles, Daniel Blonquist picked up another win for Southern Virginia, dominating 6-1, 6-1 while Ben Spencer dispatched of his man 6-1, 6-4.
Zac Bowers grabbed the last point of the day for the Knights, grinding out a tough 6-4, 6-4 victory.

The Maroons were forced to default both the No. 3 doubles spot and the No. 6 singles as their sixth player had an injury.

Southern Virginia will return to CAC play as they will face off against the Captains of Christopher Newport University on the 5th of April at 2 p.m.
