BUENA VISTA, Va.—Southern Virginia University men's tennis player Paul Monson was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State second team this season, becoming the first player in program history to earn an All-State honor.
Monson posted an 11-4 record at No. 1 singles and equally impressive 16-3 season at No. 2 doubles, leading the way to the team's third-straight winning season and best record since joining the CAC. The Provo, Utah native was named CAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week twice during the season on his way to the All-CAC second team.

VaSID names 27 all-state teams in 15 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a University or conference in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
