FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team has been picked to finish fourth in the Capital Athletic Conference Preseason Poll and will be looking to expand their current 8-0 record.

The Knights had a successful 7-0 fall campaign where they defeated five NCAA Division II teams. Freshman Andrew Blonquist and Sophomore Ben Spencer both boast undefeated records in both singles and doubles.

Returning this year for the Knights are Junior Zac Bowers and Senior TJ Snelson. During the 2016-17 season, Bowers finished with a 13-5 singles record and Snelson finished with an 11-8 record. The two paired up for doubles during the same season to give the Knights 10 wins at No. 1 doubles.

Paul Monson, Tanner O'Brien, Andrew Blonquist, Ben Spencer, and Ove Cordes all join the team for their first season with the Knights.

"I think we have a strong team this year," says head coach Tom Snelson. "We have a really committed team and we are hoping to continue improving over last season."

The Knights are scheduled to play both West Virginia State and Ferrum College at home on Thursday, March 8 starting at 1 p.m.
