Men's Tennis Falls to St. Mary's

BUENA VISTA, Va.— The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team was trumped by St. Mary's College of Maryland Saturday afternoon, 9-0, in Fredericksburg, Va. 

In singles play SMC's Mark Hardesty defeated Dallin Evans by a 6-1, 6-1 score. Brennan Alford dropped his proset by an 8-1 score. SMC's Wyatt Paulishak overcame Kjell Henness by a 6-1, 6-0 count. Cort Cox lost by an 8-2 score. SMC's Nick Ersoy trumped Parker Monson by a6-0, 6-0 score. Tanner Heyland dropped his proset match by an 8-5 score.

During doubles competition, Southern Virginia's Dallin Evans and Brennan Alford fell by an 8-4 score. Kjell Henness and Cort Cox were defeated by an 8-6 count. Parker Monson and Tanner Heyland lost by an 8-1 score.

The Knights will step out of conference play for a matchup against Hood College. The match is scheduled for Friday at 3:30pm on Friday at noon at The Hood Tennis Complex in Frederick, Md.
