Men's Tennis Rolls to Third Straight League Victory

YORK, Pa.—The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team picked up its third consecutive victory Saturday afternoon, defeating York College 6-3 at Spartan Tennis Centre.

The Knights are now 5-1 in their last six matches.

In doubles competition, Southern Virginia took two of the three matches as freshmen Cooper Brown and Zac Bowers earned an 8-4 win, while brothers Adam and Brian Blocher teamed up to also take an 8-4 victory at the No. 3 spot.

Pradeep Ravisankar and Dallin Evans dropped a close match at the No. 1 doubles spot, losing 9-7.

In singles play, the Knights came away with four of the six matches. Ravisankar dropped a close No. 1 singles match 6-7 (11-13), 7-5, 6-2. Evans, Brown and Bowers all picked up victories in No. 2, 3 and 4 singles. A. Blocher fell to his opponent Zach Hanson in three sets, while B. Blocher earned the victory in straight sets.

Southern Virginia improves to 9-8 on the season while York falls to 4-8.

Men's tennis is off for two days before it hosts Frostburg State (4-7, 1-4 CAC) on Tuesday at The Fields. The first serve is scheduled at 4 pm.
