Men’s Tennis Picks Up Second Straight Victory

HERSHEY, Pa.The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team earned a dominating 8-1 victory over Capital Athletic Conference opponent Penn State Harrisburg Friday evening at Hershey Racquet Club in Hershey, Pa.

In doubles competition, the Knights stole all three matches by scores of 9-7, 8-6 and 8-2, respectively.

Southern Virginia continued its solid performance as it began singles play when Pradeep Ravisankar won a close match at the No. 1 spot. The Chennai, India, native picked up the first set, 6-4, before falling 5-7 in the second. Ravisankar then ran with the tiebreaker, winning 10-1.

Freshman Cooper Brown played a tightly contested match at No. 3 singles, but fell in three sets, 4-6, 6-3 and 10-7. Dallin Evans, Zac Bowers and brothers Adam and Brian Blocher all won in straight sets to help Southern Virginia pick up its second CAC win of the season.

The Knights improve to 8-8 on the season while the Lions fall to 5-9.
