Men’s Tennis Defeated at Salisbury

By Wesley Evans

BUENA VISTA, Va.–The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team dropped a tough match on Friday against fellow Capital Athletic Conference member Salisbury University at the SU Outdoor Courts.

The Seagulls are currently ranked No. 18 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in the Atlantic South region and are first in the CAC standings.

In singles play, freshman Cooper Brown and sophomore Adam Blocher played the closest matches at No. 3 and No. 5, but both eventually fell in straight sets to their opponents.

Salisbury took all three doubles matches by scores of 8-0, 8-1 and 8-5 respectively.

The Knights fall to 6-8 on the season while the Seagulls improve to 8-2 (2-0 CAC).

Men's tennis will have just one night of rest as it hosts St. Mary's College of Maryland tomorrow. The first serve will take place at 11:30 am at The Fields.
