About the Knights

The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team is on a four-game slump as it travels to face Ferrum College on Thursday. The Knights recently lost 7-2 to Virginia State on Tuesday.

Lauren Morrison and Katelynn Tlustek will start in the number one and two spots as they are currently 0-2 in both singles and as doubles partners. Micah Roberts is 1-1 in the three spot while her doubles partner, Kirsten Laurence, is 0-1 this spring. Anna Evans and Katie Durrant are consistent in their number five and six spots with 1-0 and 3-0 records, respectively.

The Southern Virginia University men's tennis team is looking to end its three-game losing streak as it travels to compete with Ferrum College.

Pradeep Ranisankar and Dallin Evans are battling for a win in the number one and two spots for singles as well as in doubles. Freshman Cooper Brown will start in the number three spot as well with doubles partner Zach Bowers in the number two doubles spot. Brothers and doubles partners Adam and Brian Blocher are also looking for their first win this season.

The tennis teams will look to learn and improve from past contests to defeat NCAA DIII USA Athletic Conference member Ferrum College.

About the Panthers

The Ferrum College women's tennis team has yet to win a single match this season. The Panthers graduated three seniors and this year's eight-woman roster is equipped with seven underclassmen. The Panthers' most recent loss came while hosting Huntingdon College on Monday.

The Ferrum College men's tennis squad has a 1-3 record this season. Freshmen Danny Khuorn, Garet Frees and Sam Belcher along with doubles partners, Conner Moncure/Taylor Napier and Tyler Lee/Kevin Minter pulled off wins to earn a close 5-4 victory to host Covenant College. The Panthers suffered a 1-8 loss to visiting LaGrange College on Sunday.
