Southern Virginia Shut Out on Senior Night by Sea Gulls

BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team was defeated 4-0 on their senior night against conference opponent Salisbury on Saturday afternoon at the fields.

Throughout the first half of play the Seagulls (11-2-2, 4-1-1) spent most of the time on the offensive, but the Southern Virginia (1-16, 0-6) defense managed to hold strong sending the Knights into the locker room tied 0-0.

The Knights came out with the same conviction in the second half and it wasn't until the 59th minute that Salisbury managed to find the back of the net. Unfortunately, however, the Seagulls offensive attack continued, and they managed to score 3 more goals finishing off the Knights 4-0.

The Knights managed to take 3 shots on the game, none of which were on goal. Along with those shots they also had one corner kick.

The Knights will return to action as they head to North Carolina to take on Guilford College. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
