Spartans Shuts Out Knights

YORK, Pa. – The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team dropped a conference game on Saturday to York College of Pennsylvania, falling 5-0.

The Spartans (8-3-1, 1-0-1 CAC) scored their first goal in the 11th minute of the game. The Knights (1-12, 0-2 CAC) were able to hold the hosts scoreless for the rest of the first half, despite 16 shots taken by York (Pa.) in the period.

Over a 12-minute stretch in the second half, the Spartans were able to find the back of the net four more times to build an insurmountable lead, beating the Knights 5-0.

Seth Grieve and Gabriel Ramirez were the only Knights with attempts at goal, while the Spartans finished with 34 shots for the game.

Goalkeeper Jacob Solis played all 90 minutes for Southern Virginia in the loss, tallying 10 saves.

The Knights will continue conference play this Wednesday as they take on Christopher Newport. The game will be at Knight Stadium.
