BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team was held scoreless Wednesday evening in their match in a non-conference game against Gallaudet University, losing 4-0.
The Knights (0-6) were only able to get off six shots, including two on goal. The Bison (2-2) capitalized on their shots on goal, scoring on four of their five attempts.
The Bison attacked often and early on the Knights, scoring their first three goals in the first half. Gallaudet freshman Chad Johnson scored or assisted on each goal. The final goal was scored in the 64th minute, when Johnson tallied his second goal of the season.
Southern Virginia was led by senior Gabriel Ramirez with the two shots on goal. The Knights led the Bison in corner kicks 4-3 but were unable to score on these opportunities.
The Knights next game was to be held on Sept. 15 at Bridgewater but has since been postponed due to the weather. They will now play next Sept. 19 at 7:00 p.m. on the road against Roanoke.
