Written by Chris Pendleton

BECKLEY, W.Va.—The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team won back-to-back matches for the first time since last August on Monday afternoon as the Knights earned a 4-1 comeback victory at Mountain State University.

After falling behind 1-0 in the opening half, Southern Virginia (6-5-2) rallied to score four second-half goals against the NAIA Division I Cougars (3-10) climbing back above .500 on the season.

Freshman Scott Terry (Paris, Texas) netted two goals for the third time in five matches pushing his team-leading total to eight goals on the season.

Fellow freshman Kyle Tyree (Universal City, Texas), who also recorded two goals last Friday against NCAA Division III Gallaudet, added his fourth goal of the season against the Cougars while sophomore Adam Freeman (Marion, Va.) scored his seventh goal and recorded his team-leading fifth assist of the year at Mountain State.

Men's soccer has Tuesday off before hosting fellow USCAA-member Christendom College on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. on The Fields.
