Flames Scorch Knights

LYNCHBURG, Va.—The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team was shutout Tuesday night at the hands NCAA Division I host Liberty University falling 9-0 to the scorching hot Flames.

Liberty (5-1) has now won five straight matches, including a 2-0 victory over No. 12 ranked University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. last Tuesday, Sept. 13. 

Southern Virginia (3-3-1) managed only three total shots and one shot-on-goal against Liberty compared to 24 shots—70 percent of which were on goal—from the Flames.

Liberty midfielder Travis Joseph recorded a hat trick against the Knights and added an assist, while forward Timothy Bullock finished with two goals and an assist.

Men's soccer plays again Saturday, Sept. 24 at Ferrum. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
