LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team suffered a lopsided 7-0 defeat on Friday at the hands of the NCAA Division I Liberty University Flames, who hosted the Knights at Osborne Stadium on their Senior Night.
Liberty outshot Southern Virginia 27-3 on the evening with a 12-1 shot on goal advantage. The Flames' Darren Amoo set an Osborne Stadium record with four goals in the match.
The Knights, who began the season 7-2, now fall to 7-7 with five straight losses as Liberty moves to 8-6-1 overall.
Men's soccer hopes to snap out of its current slump on Wednesday, Oct. 27, when it travels to Washington, D.C. to face Gallaudet University at 6:30 p.m. Southern Virginia defeated Gallaudet 5-1 at home earlier this season.
