Southern Virginia Falls to Ferrum, 1-0

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Southern Virginia University men's soccer team's losing streak grew to four as the Knights fell Wednesday afternoon to visiting Ferrum College, 1-0.

Although Wednesday's contest was evenly matched – both teams managed 14 shots – Southern Virginia allowed Ferrum a goal in the 34th minute of play and was never able to recover. Despite firing eight shots on goal compared to Ferrum's five, the Knights could not find the back of the net as Ferrum's goalie turned away all eight on-goal attempts.

Now 7-6 on the season, men's soccer hopes to break out of its current slump on Friday, Oct. 22 when it travels to face Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. The match will take place at 7 p.m.
