MEDIA, PA. The Southern Virginia men's soccer team pelted the goal of hosts, Williamson Trade, with 27-shots, and found the net three different times for the win over the Mechanics. SVU started early against the hosts, as they were led by Brandon Seeberger with 6-shots. SVU was looking to rebound from a difficult loss early in the week to Penn College. The Knights found a rhythm, and were able to pepper the Mehcanics' goal.
The visitors were able to record 15-shots in the first term, but were stymied repeatedly in that first half. The breakthrough came with only 1:40 left in the first half, as Austin Bridge received a ball from Chris Teerlink, and put home the goal, to give the Knights the lead. The goal proved to be all that the visitors would need.
The defense for the Knights was preventing any opportunities for Williamson Trade, as they limited the hosts to only 4-shots all game. Three of the shots were on goal, with Richard Crist and Ben May saving all three shots on goal.
The second half started with more shots for the Knights. 6-minutes in to the half, and the Knights had the goal they needed to secure the win, as Teerlink sent home another goal to give him six on the season. Teerlink's assist total also grew, as Seeberger finished the scoring for SVU 4-minutes after the second goal.
SVU would not finish the offensive output as they would end with 12-shots in the second half, and six of those would be on frame with the other two scoring. The win moved the Knights to 5-2 on the season. The Knights continue the road games, as they travel Sep. 20 to play at USCAA foe Christendom. Game time is set for 5:00 pm.
