WASHINGTON D.C. — The Southern Virginia University rugby team kicked off their spring season with a victory over No. 11 Army 37-26.
Jaxon Reyos debuted in his first match, scoring the first tri of the match seven minutes into the game. Five minutes later, Reyos scored again, giving him his second tri of the day while Gavin Smyth locked in the third tri for the Knights 45 minutes into the game.
Peni Vahalahi scored two consecutive tris just five minutes apart from another before Christian Kapisi, and Joyden Madriaga rounded out the scoring for Southern Virginia and locking in the first victory of the spring season for the Knights.
Southern Virginia looks to continue its impressive season hosting James Madison on Saturday, Mar. 7. The match is set for 3 p.m.
