Chad Mahaffey is an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Southern Virginia University.
In the 2014 season Mahaffey was the defensive coordinator under Stephen Macurdy.
Mahaffey came to Southern Virginia from Brigham Young University where he served as a graduate assistant trainer for the Cougars’ 2004 track and field season. He also served as the first assistant athletic trainer for the BYU football team in 2003.
Mahaffey has a B.S. in athletic training and master's degree in sports medicine from BYU. He is certified in First Aid, CPR and AED, is a certified member of the National Athletic Training Association and is a licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
He and his wife, Michelle, reside in Buena Vista with their four children.
