Men's Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Matchup to Bowdoin College

Boston, Mass. — The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team faced Bowdoin College in a neutral site matchup held at Boston University Saturday afternoon, falling 12-8.

The Knights (5-8) trailed the Polar Bears (6-5) 3-1 at the end of the first quarter with the only goal coming on a Tennison Schmidt goal assisted by Chandler Wescott.

The Polar Bears increased their lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Knights 4-2, taking a 7-3 lead into the half.

At the start of the second half, both defenses played strong allowing only a combined three goals with the Polar Bears leading 9-4 at the end of three.

The fourth quarter was the Knights best of the game, doubling their goal total with four goals. Bowdoin managed to still score three goals to put away the Knights 12-8.

Zach Danneman led the Knights' attack netting four goals while Schmidt, Payton Kimber, Brady Cook, and Wescott each tallied a goal on the day.

The Knights return to Capital Athletic Conference as they play next Wednesday, April 10 at the University of Mary Washington at 4:00 p.m.
