About the Knights
The Knights are in their second year as a provisional NCAA program, and in their first season as a member of the Capital Athletic Conference. Southern Virginia enters its first contest against national power Salisbury after a hard fought 24-4 defeat at the hands of Frostburg State.
Freshman Nash Wilkey leads the Knights with 16 goals on the season, while fellow Lone Peak (UT) High School alum Mike Bangerter has added nine goals. Goalkeeper Tyler Cox has compiled 129 saves during his 10 starts for the Knights this season. Senior Thomas Canady has helped anchor the Knights on defense with nine caused turnovers.

Salisbury (12-1) is lead by head coach Jim Berkman, the all-time winningest coach in NCAA men's lacrosse history. Berkman (419-43) has lead Salisbury to 10 national championships, 25 straight NCAA tournaments, and 17 CAC championships during his tenure.
Junior Mike Kane leads the Sea Gulls with 27 goals, while senior Rhett DePol leads the team in points with 14 goals and 20 assists. Goalkeeper Alex Taylor has registered 121 saves throughout his 13 starts for Salisbury.
