Men's Lacrosse Drops Match to No. 15 York

York, Pa.—On the road in CAC action, the Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team fell to No. 15 York, 27-2, Friday afternoon at Kinsley Field in York, Pa.

"Today was another opportunity for our team to grow against a nationally ranked CAC opponent," said Southern Virginia head coach Jason Lamb. "York is an outstanding program. It's exciting to envision our future, and we will continue to build our team to compete in this great conference."

Freshman Nash Wilkey provided the first goal of the game for the Knights, adding an unassisted goal in the second quarter to give him a team high 15 goals on the season. Freshman Jacob Lamb scored his first goal of the season, winning the faceoff and scoring on a fast break.

York outshot the Knights by a 59-6 ratio and won the ground ball battle, 47-15. The Spartans also earned 24 of 33 faceoffs for the game, while the Knights were able to clear on seven of eleven opportunities.

Sophomore Marcel Blake led the way on defense, causing two turnovers for Southern Virginia. Tyler Cox recorded 14 saves on the afternoon as the goalkeeper for the Knights.

The Knights return to action next Wednesday on the road against Frostburg State. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 pm at Bobcat Stadium.
