About the Knights

The Knights are in their second year as a provisional NCAA program, and in their first season of Capital Athletic Conference play. Southern Virginia enters the contest against St. Mary's (Md.) coming off a 19-1 defeat at the hands of #14 Mary Washington.

Freshman Nash Wilkey leads Southern Virginia with 12 goals and two assists on the season. Garrett Maw and Mike Bangerter have added six goals apiece on the year. Goalkeeper Tyler Cox has compiled 85 saves in his seven starts for the Knights. Defenders Marcel Blake and Ibrahim Kargbo lead the team in caused turnovers.

About the Seahawks

St. Mary's (4-5) is unranked for the first time this season, falling victim to one of the strongest schedules in the country. The Seahawks notched solid victories over ODAC power Roanoke, and CAC foe Wesley. St. Mary's finished 12-7 overall and 4-2 in conference play last season.

The Seahawks are lead by senior goalie Zack Blewett, who has seven 107 saves on the season. Junior Matt Tarrant leads the Seahawks with 18 goals and 8 assists, while senior Ben Love has 15 goals and senior Gordy Long has 13 goals on the season.
