About the Knights

The Knights are in their second year as a provisional NCAA program, and in their first season of Capital Athletic Conference play. Southern Virginia enters its first contest against a nationally ranked opponent coming off a 22-2 defeat at the hands of Marymount University.

Freshman Nash Wilkey leads Southern Virginia with 12 goals and two assists on the season. Garrett Maw has added six goals while Mike Bangerter has five goals on the year. Goalkeeper Tyler Cox has compiled 79 saves in his six starts for the Knights. Defenders Marcel Blake and Ibrahim Kargbo lead the team in caused turnovers.

About the Eagles

Mary Washington (6-1) is off to its best start in program history with its sole loss coming in double overtime against No. 9 York (Pa.). The Eagles have notched strong victories over ODAC members Washington & Lee and Hampden-Sydney. Mary Washington finished 9-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play last season.

Mary Washington is led by senior goalie Zack Delgrosso, who is averaging seven goals allowed against opponents on the season. Senior John Bohlinger leads the Eagles with 20 goals and 13 assists, while senior Luke Dick has 18 goals and senior Billy Kelly has 16 goals on the season.
