About the Knights
Southern Virginia enters this weekend's contest coming off a 17-4 defeat at the hands of Bridgewater College. Freshman Nash Wilkey continued to lead the way for the Knights with two goals, bringing his season total to seven. Ciaran Giroux and Garret Maw added a goal apiece, while Tyler Cox played well in goal.
This marks the third meeting between Southern Virginia and Randolph in men's lacrosse. In 2013, the Knights fell to the Wildcats, 22-5, during their first competition as an NCAA program. The teams first meet in 2011 with Southern Virginia battling to a 13-3 defeat.
About the Wildcats
Randolph (2-0) entered the season ranked eighth of ten teams in the ODAC. The Wildcats finished 5-11 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
Randolph returns nine seniors and many key contributors from 2013. Of the 15 players to tally a point last year, a dozen are back in 2014, as well as the team's starting goalkeeper.
