About the Knights

After a 19-0 road loss to Catholic University last week, the Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team will look to turn the tables on Shenandoah University in front of a home crowd in their second game of the season.

Against Catholic, freshman Nash Wilkey had three shots and Mike Bangerter followed with two while Ben Tillotson, Garrett Maw, and Cody Pennington took one shot apiece. Maw led the Knights with six ground balls and sophomore Marvel Blake tallied four. Goalkeeper Chris Snyder recorded 12 saves.

About the Hornets

Going into their second year as ODAC participants, Shenandoah University was ranked 10th of 10 teams in the league. During their first season in the ODAC in 2013, the Hornets finished 5-11 overall and 0-9 in conference play.  The Hornets will open their season Tuesday against the Knights.

Junior Aaron Paul is a leading returner for the Hornets as he earned 25 points on 13 goals and 12 assists last season. Junior Eric Hobby tallied 38 ground balls, caused 15 turnovers and had one goal. The Hornets will have freshman Ben Judy defending the net.
