LYNCHBURG, Va.—The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team suffered its second straight defeat on Saturday falling to SCAD at Liberty University 3-22.
The Knights were led by two freshmen against SCAD as Garrett Maw (N. Ogden, Utah) had two goals and an assist for Southern Virginia (2-5) and Wade Kirwan (Havelock, N.C.) finished with a goal and an assist.
"It was a rough game, but hopefully we'll use it as motivation for our remaining games," said co-head coach Stephen Macurdy. "Through it all Garrett was able to step up again and give us some desperately needed offense in the second half."
Goalie Scott Trammel had 25 saves, while allowing 22 goals. SCAD finished with a 22-3 shot-on-goal advantage over the Knights.
Men's lacrosse if off until Friday, Mar. 30 when the Knights travel to Liberty again this time to take on the Flames at 7 p.m. EST.
