Trammel Records Career-High Saves as Southern Virginia Falls at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va.—The Southern Virginia University men's lacrosse team suffered a 4-23 defeat at the University of Richmond on Tuesday night snapping a two-game winning streak for the Knights.

Southern Virginia (2-4) goalie Scott Trammel (Spring, Texas) finished with a career-high 42 saves on 59 shots by Richmond.

"Scott played out of his mind," said first-year co-head coach Stephen Macurdy following the match. "That was a very good team and Scott finished with over 40 saves."

Four different Knights—Wade Kirwan (Havelock, N.C.), Garrett Maw (N. Ogden, Utah), Chase Sawyer (Bedford, Va.) and Ben Tillotson (Okatie, S.C.)—scored at Richmond, while Kirwan, Maw and Alex Wixom (Idaho Falls, Idaho) each recorded an assist in the loss.

Men's Lacrosse plays again on Saturday, Mar. 17 in a neutral match with SCAD at Liberty University beginning at 2 p.m. EST.
