UNC-Charlotte Overwhelms Knights

BUENA VISTA, Va. The UNC-Charlotte lacrosse team jumped to a commanding first quarter lead, and proved too much for the Southern Virginia Lacrosse team, beating the Knights 15-1.

UNC-C jumped to the quick lead as they put in 4-goals within the first five minutes. The early barrage proved to be too much for SVU, as the team was shell-shocked and could not regroup quickly enough.

The first three periods showed an SVU offense that was out of sync as they could muster only 10 total shots, while the 49ers had already put up 12-total goals in the three periods.

The Knights were able to eventually score as Brian Flood put the last goal of the game in with 5:30 left in the fourth quarter. The goal was little more than a consolation goal, but did prevent the shutout. Goalie Jordan Sorensen was kept busy as he made 19-saves, but was left strnaded aon multiple occasions.

SVU falls to 3-3 on the season after the loss. The team returns to action March 27 when they host East Carolina. Start time for the game is 3:00 pm.
