ROCKFORD, Tenn. — The Southern Virginia University men's golf team concluded the second day of the Maryville College Invitational Tuesday, placing third overall.
The Knights continued to improve on the second day, recording their lowest score of 304.
Junior Coulson Hardy paved the way for the Knights with a score of 72 on the second day, totaling a total score of 148, good enough for sixth place overall. Following Hardy in seventh place was freshman Nathan Ouimette, shooting a 74 for the day and a 149 total score.
The biggest improvement for the tournament came from Cale Hansen, who tied for the best score for the day with a 72, eight strokes fewer than the previous day, earning a 12th place finish.
"We feel good about the tournament but also know we could have done better," said Head Coach Blair Garner. "This shows our team is getting better. We look forward to the spring and making even more improvements just like we have done this fall."
This wraps up the Knights fall season. The team will start back up in February.
