Knights in Third After Day One at Maryville College Invitational

ROCKFORD, Tenn. — The Southern Virginia University men's golf team completed the first day of the Maryville College Invitational on Monday, for the last match of fall. The Knights sit tied in third place with a score of 310.

Nathan Ouimette shot a 75 on the day for the par-70, 6432-yard Egwani Farms Golf Course, currently placed eighth. Coulson Hardy recorded a 76, followed by teammate Jake Watson at a 79, Cale Hansen at 80, and Tad Honeycutt at an 81.

"Overall I think we had a solid round, our 310 score is the lowest overall team score," said Head Coach Blair Garner. "We battled the first day and now we feel good about improving our scores tomorrow."

The Knights are currently two strokes out of second place behind Emory and Henry College and will begin to play Tuesday morning.
