Knights Finish VSGA Intercollegiate Championship, Tie for Eighth

SUFFOLK, Va. — The Southern Virginia University men's golf team placed eighth at the Virginia State Golf Association Intercollegiate Championship, the finish is eight positions higher than a season ago.

The team scored a 311 score for day two becoming the lowest round in the Division III era. 

Nathan Ouimette led the Knights in the two-day tournament, with a total score of 149 placing himself in a tie at the ninth spot. Ouimette scored a 75 on day one and a 74 on day two. Coulson Hardy showed some consistency with scoring 77 on both days generating a 154 overall score and a 19th place finish.

Cale Hansen improved his second day in the tournament by five strokes scoring a 78 and Tad Honeycutt took off two strokes to record an 82 on the course to finished out the top-four Knights.

The Knights head into their last tournament of the fall season Monday, Oct. 29 at Maryville College Fall Invitational.
