Tony Clark is an assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach for the Southern Virginia University men’s basketball program.
In his first season with the Knights, Clark helped men's basketball to a 17-7 finish and a trip to the semifinal round of the USCAA Division I Men's Basketball National Tournament.
Before coming to Southern Virginia, Clark spent eight years coaching high school basketball in the state of Virginia, most recently as the head boy’s basketball coach at King George High School (2009-10). Prior to his stint at King George, Clark spent three years (2006-09) as Lafayette High School’s head coach leading his team to the program’s first postseason victory in 2007.
Clark also coached high school girl’s basketball at Middleburg Academy (2005-06) and Fort Defiance High School (2002-05), which included a trip to the Virginia State AA Final Four in 2004.
A 1991 graduate from Lexington High School, Clark had a standout career as shooting guard. He also played tight end and linebacker on Lexington’s 1988 state championship football team.
Clark received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from James Madison University in 1999. He lives in Lexington, Va., with his wife and four children.
